I got my S4 from a guy who had put the 19" 997 wheels on it. I'm not a big photo guy so i don't have a profile shot of the car (and it's on the lift with no wheels right now):
Looks pretty good, however when i pulled them off I found this. There is so little clearance to the outside fender, i could only maybe go a 1-2mm higher on the hub spacer. I would strongly recommend going 18x10 max
Works with correct tires and ride height adjustment
Got the Carreras mounted on my '87 S4. Had to raise the rear ride height a couple centimeters, by just twisting the coil overs a thousand times to provide the appropriate clearance. No rubbing. (NOTE: Pic shows before raising ride height in rear.) The right tire size for the 11" rears is 295/25/19. I had the 305/30/19s that came stock on the 911 rims and they definitely did not fit. Unfortunately the 295s are not common so you'll pay. I did get the Kumho road ready track tires which are really cool. No adjustments needed on the fronts. Overall fitment is perfect and performance great. (Have to secure anything in the car that could rattle around, like the ride height wrench, jack, and tire iron I had sitting in the spare tire.)
Darius, those look gorgeous. I have the adjustment nut on mine soaking with PB Blaster right now. Will see how much room I get. One of the wheels has some curb rash so I might head up to Brumos for an alignment - they also have a guy on-site that repairs alloy rims
