Default Brake hose, stainless steel braided?

Need new brake hoses for front brakes. Got a price from Porsche GB of £96 per hose! (approx $350 for two). Found I can get a set of four braided hoses made for the s2 for approx $100. Any reason I shouldnt just go for the braided stainless hoses? (in the past people have recommended against)

Because rubber hoses are proven with 20-year lifetimes.

I've got stainless lines on one car and I replace them every year.

The US "DOT" tests don't validate durability. Perhaps the tests are different in the UK.

What tends to go on the braided hoses?

Typically the braided hoses have teflon interiors which break easily. I pulled the braided off my track car and now run stock rubber...

Two more ways is having the inner teflon tube pull out of the fitting and having the SS wires themselves snap.

They're pricey, for sure.

Check www.928intl.com . They'll ship overseas.

I made up my own from Aeroquip bulk hose & fittings & they've been on my daily driver for 7 years. They make a positive improvement you can feel in the pedal. I check them every state inspection & have never had a problem.
