Looking good! Nice design. Love to see others out their using 3D printing to solve these kinds of issues. Which model of printer do you have? Good choice on Nylon over PLA. You may already know this but be sure to complete dry out the nylon filament before using it and the layer-to-layer adhesion will not be an issue. One other suggestion, since a lot of FDM printers don't make perfectly round holes, especially the smaller they get, print them undersized as a pilot and then use a drill bit to finish.

Hi Buccione,
I am interested in the speaker mounts and grilles and possibly a radio - can you email me photos please?

Hans 14914, I am also interested in the speaker mounts - can you email details also please?

Kind Regards
Ken

Hans, do you have a link or pictures of the tweeter mounts and grills? I don't think I saw those (or I might not have needed to design this).

Nate, I just got a Prusa i3 Mk3.
I have seen that I need to dry the nylon filament first. Any idea how long it will stay dry if kept inside in the air conditioning?
Good suggestion on the holes. I noticed today that I'd accidentally made the screw holes a bit too small. So I may have inadvertently followed that suggestion.

I had to dig way back to find those pictures.

I guess I did all that work over 7 years ago. Time flies...

Again, mine are not direct stock replacements, they are slightly larger and designed to hold a Vifa tweeter. But I do have boxes of them with the round perforated grill and no badges installed. They have the same bolt pattern as stock, so you could be modified to fit under or over a stock grill.

If they help anyone, I can go dig a box of them out of storage.

I have Mk3 as well. Very nice printer. Much slower than my Delta but more accurate and easier to use. As for Nylon as soon as you open the spool you have about 8 hours before it will start absorbing moisture. I've also had spools that needed drying from the get go. Some folks have built their own dry boxes. I haven'r tried that yet. Easiest thing I've found is to pull off the amount of filament that you need for the print and lay it on a baking sheet in your oven at 180°F for about 2-3 hours. If you put the entire spool in it will take 8 or more hours to completely dry.

Hans, I have Vifa (now scanspeak) tweeters in a 3/4 inch variety. Will these fit your mounts?

They look exactly the same as the ones you used btw. They're model number NE19VTS-04.

Hans, that's a beautiful piece of work. Kudos. I'd probably have bought a pair if I'd seen them seven years ago.

Nate, thanks.

siscogts,

Yes. "OR" and "OL" on the door tweeter brackets stand for "Oben Rechts" and "Oben Links," or top right and top left.

When the appropriate screw hole is up the tweeter fires toward the windshield.

Not trying to threadjack, just help if these solve anyones issues. I dont think I have any matching midrange driver grills, I ordered enough for the amount of drivers I ordered. The tweeter assembly was custom for this project, so I had to meet the minimum order, which was something like 2000 pieces. I think I had them "warehouse" (read throw away) half the order and only frieghted in half. I imagine I still have 600 sets of those at least in boxes.

If you want a pair, email me at hans@projectninellc.com with your shipping info.

thanks!

I cannot see the plastic part with OR and OL , tweeter brackets went brittle and lost some parts, OB and OL included, previous owner maybe removed tweeters and put back together everything in 2 different position.I thought it made sense if they were positioned toward seats , not toward windshield... I will correct them this evening.

I fished a box out of storage. I can fit a pair in a flat-rate USPS box so $12/pair covers my costs if anyone wants a set. Again, they are not stock, but do have the stock mounting location and an undbadged black metal grill. The mount was desgined for the vifa ne19vt series drivers, available at parts express or other transducer resellers:
