Default Perhaps I should explain...

hmmmm... I sense there may have been some confusion afloat regarding some of my posts... let me see if I can work this out...

Hi everbody, I'm Tim. 20 year old soldier currently in Iraq. Addicted to Porsches in general, 928's in particular. I am the proud owner of an 81 auto W/sunroof, and a 79 5spd that I use for parts... hopefully I will be adding an 82 5spd to my addiction, er, collection, when I come home on leave for a couple weeks in april. we shall see. my 81 is being completely overhauled... starting with suspension and brakes, moving to engine, then paint and body, then interior. I am fairly new to rennlist, but am already addicted beyond belief. I want to thank anyone who has given me advice or answers thus far, and anyone who will in the future. now then...

This username is also checked time to time by my uncle (Tom) who is handling all the restoration work for me while I am out here. so, anyone talks to him and I accidentally seem to ignore you or are confused, I apologize. he is getting his own account soon, but for now uses mine when he needs to get help for our non P-car mechanics. anycase, hope to hear more from ya'll as I am sure I will be a regular here. have a good one all

Thank you for your hospitality. it seems my uncle is making some connections of his own... well, he is indeed handling it all well. actually, he is the only one I trust for the job, so its good he's willing. well, its not all thankless though... after all, he gets to enjoy the shark while I am partying in the desert. ;-)

When are you scheduled to return from deployment?

That should be a nice reunion with your shark!

Hi Animal!

Thank you for serving our country.

Our son Mike is back there for his second tour. Would you believe he told me he actually saw a 928 on the road when he was in Kuwait and his unit was preparing to deploy down range. I emailed back and told him to engage it with his CEV and see who won.

Anyway, keep squared away and safe and we will all buy you a drink when you get back.

Cheers,

Be safe and be proud, we (or at least I) am.

I hope you have a ton of fun with your baby wehen you get back and it gets done - not sure which is likely to happen first as the list of things to do sounds pretty long.

I am staying as safe as possible. but, alas, I am not a fobbit (he who stays inside the relative safety of the F.O.B.), and I run these roads constantly. a younger me would never have condoned this, but I will take anyone praying for me I can. thank you all. your words and support in both war and war against ageing sharks is invaluable. as far as the list, I will have just the suspension done when I come home on leave... when I get home for good (er, sorta) everything but the complete interior will be done. like I said, I am hoping to pick up a nice 82 5spd when I get home on leave, if it is still there. and, I am planning on buying a slighly used Audi S4 when I get home.

thank you thank you. yeah, I would belive it... there are some pretty odd things to be seen out here. lol... look up the "balad donkey video". but not if you are easily offended. as far as the drinks when I get home... I think I will just barely be of age. not that that has held me from partaking in some aqua vitie before, but, i find it humorous... I can spend a year in a warzone, but sorry, we cant serve you!

again, thank you. this has made my day seeing the support from all of you. let me tell you... there is nothing more any soldier can be grateful for than the support of the people he signed for. I thank you all from the depths of my heart. although I would prefer not to, it would be my honor to give my life in service of the country which maintains such fine citizens as you decent gentelmen.
