Default Factory clear turn signals ?

I did a search and only found info on the Klearz product.

I purchased a set of clear turn signal lenses from one of the big 3 a while back. I believe the product is made by this Klearz company. The set I received were awful. They had splits in the plastic and were more white than clear and badly misshapen. I have a set of factory euro clear turn signals on my turbo and they are very clear. I returned the first set and received a better set in return. Although better, this set was also defective. I had also ordered the clear replacement pieces to eliminate the bumperettes.

I was checking the pieces out the other day and the Klearz lenses are just not good enough to put on my car. The surface is opaque and looks almost like a missrun. I plan on showing the car this season and the defects in my eye are obvious. I also found out that the pieces I received to replace the bumperettes were in fact the rounded pieces that sit on the inside of the driving lights and not the bumperette replacement parts.

I was curious if anyone knew what the factory part numbers were for both the clear turn signal lenses and the bumperette replacement pieces.

The PET shows 2 part numbers for the bumperette replacement parts 928.631.961.00 and 928.631.963.00 It also has 928.631.929.01 & 928.631.930.01 for the left and right turn signals. Does anyone know if these are for the clear lenses and if they are the correct numbers. I would also be interested to know if the factory made clear side markers.

I know this is going to be expensive but to show the car I need better quality lenses than what is offered for $50. The judges will pick up on this immediately. I just hope my local dealer can get them.

thanks

Anthony there never were factory clear turns or sides, the only clear things were fog/driving and EURO-only, the little pieces that on US cars, are replaced with bumperette

If you order the "Eruo Trim" from 928 int'l it will include both the half-moon inside-end pieces as well as the clear bumperettes. I just did this, so I'm pretty familiar with this. As for the corner lenses, buy them from Nicole. Much higher quality than the Klearz. Don't know about the side marker lenses (not sure if were going to try those too), but I did the Testor's paint trick and turned them red. Let me know if you need moer details. HTH.

So unlike the 964's the factory does not offer a clear alternative. What are these people selling on Ebay for $200.00 a pair? I believe they claim they are factory euro lenses. The part number for the US amber lenses is totally different than the ROW part number.

Andrew,

I will contact 928 Int. I ordered the euro trim pieces from them and I only received the inner rounded pieces not the bumperette replacement part. So they come as a pair?

Yes, the Euro trim pieces are a set of the round inner ones and the ones that go between turn signal lens and fog light. Part number is 928.631.961.00.

I carry the clear turn signal lenses for early and late models - just visit my store at www.hookedoncars.com and go to Porsche-928-Body Enhancements.

Anthony-
Heinrich has a writeup on how to install the bumberettes. I tried his method, but ran into some difficulty, so I just grabbed my dremel and cut off the part of the bumperette that gets in the way. A bit messy, but pretty fast. HTH.
