Find something else to sell:

Think about the fun drives with other 928s and other Porsches:

Shane...I am in complete agreement with you. There is a reason. I am NOT wanting to sell my car. I have to. So...I will... AND...I WILL, have another one, and start over with it. I would not sell my car, if it weren't for my "inability"...to find a way out of doing it . Someone, will benefit, from this car, and hopefully vice versa. It is a work in progress, and every day I look at it, work on it, and drive it...it makes me more hesitant to "start over"...with another one....that said though, I remember the humble origins of this car, and can...and do...take a great deal of satisfaction, in knowing the distance its come, since I bought it...and started our "relationship". I don't want to do this, but I know, I can, and will have another one, and hopefully put the experiences I've had with this fine car, to good use on the next "opportunity"...thats the only way I can deal with this calamity.

Still no interest on the board for my car...I am dismayed. Anybody know, how much Ebay charges you for selling your car ? I have been out driving about this afternoon... it always turns heads everywhere I go...and I really can't believe, for what I need out of this car, ($7K)... that it hasn't been snapped up... Do you guys think I'm asking too much for it ??? ...live and learn, I guess... Anyway, if no one knows the Ebay sales terms..., I'll check their website...I just hate to have to pay them...for getting my car sold, especially since if I didn't need the money...you know the rest. I wouldn't be selling, to say the least...Oh well. BUMP.

Jeff,

IRC it costs about $35 to post a listing on Ebay. It is more for extra photos and other fun things like bold titles. I sold my last two 944's on ebay within a week. Sorry to hear that you aren't having much luck. One thought that I had when selling my 944's was that a lot of the owners here already own a 928/944 and aren't always looking for another or have their hands tied up with their own projects.

Good luck with the sale!

Michael

Jeff,

I'm sorry you've decided you have to part with your car. Hopefully you will find another way to resolve your situation. By the way, thanks for the many posts to help me resolve the problems I had w/ my car.

I purchased my 928 through cars.com. I have also listed my other car on cars.com and autotrader.com - ~$50 a piece with the "runs t'ill it sells" option. Cars.com is nice because it talleys the number of hits you get for you everyday.

Good luck.

Thanks fellows...I never thought things would develop as they have. But, it has to go, in order to keep everything else I love. A real sacrifice, of the car of my dreams. Thats why I strongly believe, when I get this trouble sorted...I'll get another shark, and "hopefully"...another 86.5. (maybe a stick next time, but who-knows)... I just hope the prices are comparable to what I am facing selling mine for...UGH.

Okay----> Then you have to get serious about selling it then. One thread that keeps sliding off into page two, will not get her sold for you.

Ebay--> Even if it doesn't sell, it gets the word out pretty damn fast.
Autotrader--> Good place to sell cars, I bought my first two from here.
Cars.com--> Not as good as Autotrader, but still worth a shot.
Rennlist Classifieds--> Helps get the word out and is free to members.
928 Registry--> Also free and helps get the word out. I had several people e-mail me, looking to buy one of my 928s and mine are not even for-sale.

Good luck with the sale, and I hope your baby goes to a good home.
