Warning message and no speedo
Took the 93 out today for a run, first time in 3 weeks. I had a warning message saying anti-lock system not working differential lock not working. Also, my speedometer and odometer were not working. I drove for about 20 miles, shut the car down, and 1/2 hour later everything worked again.
Any ideas what might have caused this?

You know, I got a warning message once when I didn't have my Speedo too!

On a lighter note now that I've quit retching...
The ABS system controls the speedometer on later cars as well as the PSD system. I would follow Oldtee's advise and check the grounds on the ABS sensors.

Is the magical gremlins at work....all 928's have them to a certain degree! When in doubt try the "windows fix" of turning it off and starting it again.... To really fix the problem, check the grounds!

LOL, I should have known, for years French Canadians have been coming down to Old Orchard Beach and wearing speedos, kind of a local joke.
Thanks Jason, I'll call him and ask.
I can't wait to get my shop up and running so I have a nice place to work on the car . . . or have someone work on it for me.
Gremlins or not, I was quite happy to start the car right up after three weeks of sitting in a cold storage room. That has NEVER been the case with my 89.
I think my car was upset with me for leaving sit for three weeks. I've learned my lesson.

Does the ABS system control the speedometer on an 85 euro WITH ABS???
If not what does, what is the thing in the spare tire compartment??

Thanks Alan, after searching and reading here is the deal for others;
"On the earlier cars, the speedometer/odo get nine 12 vdc square-wave pulses per wheel revolution. The "sender" is just a reed switch, operated by nine magnets in a ring...
As Wally mentioned, the early cars derive a speedo signal from magnet wheel located in the differential. The sender unit located on the outside of the diff housing is a reed switch.
PSD equipped cars are a different kettle-o-fish.There is no 'magnet wheel' in the diff on these models. The speedo gets its signal from the PSD computer which derives its info from the ABS sensors." (sensor in front wheel)
