If ya bought it, would you ever drive it?
Cue Ferrari from 'Ferris Beuhler's Day Off.'
He just wipes the car down with diapers . . .

Guess jacking the rear up and running her backwards will not reverse the
electronic odometer count.

Ferris already tried that, but to no avail, much to the chagrin of Cameron.

If you think this is a low mileage car, then you have to come with me to Saudi Arabia. I have been to palaces full of literally underiven cars. This is one is a definite cash, though i doubt my family would be excited about me adding another 928 to the house (they literally don't want to hear it). Regardless, I think this is a good catch. What would be a better catch is for me to go to Riyadh this summer, swing by a few of my friends and take a sneak peek at what sits in the garage unwanted

Yes, and also owners can bit on their own cars too! If the auction is not going well, the owner can bid an essentially "buy" their own car back. A lot of times it's much better for the owner to just pay the commision to B-J then to loose 10s of thousands on a car. So you see, the risk of the no reserve auction is no longer a threat to the owner. It's just another marketing gimmick with a huge loop hole that favours the seller in a big way.

I just don't know what to say! I am in complete awe and wish to buy it now!!! Seeing something like this always blows my mind! It's like a time capsule. It's like...like...a VIRGIN!...with Sport Seats!!!

Hope it never sees the road in a weird way.

Simply spectacular!

IIRC you can present them with a reserve, however the quantity of no reserve cars they have leaves the reserve cars out in the cold. They also have a place set asside for you to bring the car to show it and sell it with a "Buy it now" price.

In either case it is destined to be a show car or worse locked away in a private collection for another 17 years without seeing the light of day or admired by anyone but the owner.

I would love to see it up close. What are the other low mileage cars? Are they P-cars, if so what models and years?

I have a business trip next week that puts me in the Raleigh area so I plan on dropping in to see the car and take some pics of my own. The collector who is going to put this in his collection, I have known for a number of years and as far as I know his collection consists of only Porsches. Some pretty rare super low mileage ones too. They range from 356s all the way through the Carrera GT. He has told me that he would love to add a 928 to his collection if in his words "I could find one as nice as your 95 GTS" (he has not seen the frog yet). I'd say this one certainly qualifies..... I also told him about the frog when it was on eBay and when he didn't buy it I figured WTH, I had to have it!

Kevin asked me to keep his identity quiet until the deal is done at which time I could reveal a link to his collection. Stay tuned.

[edit with afterthought] Tony, you would probably be particular interested in the 94 3.6 turbos in his collection. He has two that I know of, one is the regular version with under 1,000 miles and the other is a flat nose with ~1,300 miles. Super nice cars......

I can't wait to see more pics!! What I would give to be a fly on the wall in this collectors garage...not that any flies are in there...plus most of the cars are probably in bubbles anyway!

This would make a GREAT track car if you'd tear out all the crappy weight items...sell the sport seats on eBay, etc. Put a raciing strip on it, etc. Go for it!

He bought an old Chevrolet dealership facility and is renovating it to display his collection and to host car club events. From what I hear, it is a pretty nice setup. He loves for people to see his cars (he is very much an enthusiast and NOT a show off).

just got back from seeing the car.... WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is all I have to say
the color is almost the exact match to my S4... hmmmmmmmm
just a couple follow ups to Chuck's comments, the gent has an awesome collection, though not all Porsches IIRC.. he recently had a Ferrari
the other cars were 79 924 Sebring, 88 911 CS both with UNDER 100 MILES!!!!! and the other car I don't remember as I was completely dumbfounded by the shark
as for the GT, it smells BRAND SPANKING NEW!, undercarriage, engine, paint etc are PERFECT!
Kevin will arrange a time later for me to take pics if possible, offers for the car are already reaching 6 figures!
option codes:
220 - LSD
383/387 - Sport seats
393 - Lateral insignias, hatched black (78-82 option)
418 - side mouldings
474 - bilsteins
481 - 5 spd
570 - rear ac
650 - sunroof
691 - CD-1
CO2 - cat

that's all for now, hopefully I'll have pics in the near future, if they don't let Chuck get some while he's there

DROOL...........DROOL................ okay I'm addicted.....PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
$100K+ for a 17 year old $80K car.... an approximate 1.5% annual return on his $80k! My guess is the owner doesn't worry too much about $80k...wish that was me!
