Hanging wire
84' 928, auto, shark on the blue ridge. First time long time.
I looked under the front end and saw a wire hanging. So I put him on the quick lift and oops, there it is. It is hanging just below the alternator harness bracket about 7" long. It comes out of the main harness up above the alt. It's a single wire in it's own harness sheath. The wire itself is blue and green. It is hot when the ignition is on. It is burned off at the end. It has been repaired with tape previously and has obvious signs of chaffing. As it leaves the main harness it follows the alt. bundle down to the alt. harness bracket. And hangs there below the alt.
I've pulled the alt. and cover and checked, checked the starter connectons, checked the oil sensor connections. Checked the diagram.
Anyone ever have a wire hanging?

The oil level switch takes a blue/green wire. That's a triangular piece mounted to the top of the oil pan. You can see it looking down past the radiator fan on the left side of the engine. Roughly below the distributor.

Yes. Thats fantastic.
When I saw that from below, days ago, I didn't recognise the barrel connection on it. I took it out to see how it works.
Thank you. Now F.A. and me can go to Pinehurst and my Renlist membership is paid for.
