Default Looking for a used/bent engine crossover brace

I want to see if I can make a "928 Motorsports" front crossover brace thats better/stronger than some of the ones currently available aftermarket.

I need one to cut up... a bent one is fine. I crawled all over our shelves of used parts this morning - I could've sworn I had one somewhere.... cannot find it.

If you have an old one you want to part with, let me know. I'll buy it from you, or let you get the first prototype in our New Product Contest program:

Many thanks!

Thanks s928s - I'll let you know. Let me see what rixter is sending me... I might be covered on this for now.

What are you making yours out of?

Every one I have seen fail are always bent up from the bottom - obviously by hard cornering flexing the inner fender wells together. If we know in which direction the load is coming from (and we do) then we can engineer for it. I plan on making ours with square tubing, not round, which will be inherantly stronger in that direction.

I am making mine out of 1.75 x .38 t-6 solid aluminum stock. the mount plates are out of .19 aluminum plates. I don't think mine will ever be under the forces you are looking at !! I am going for a little more of a cosmetic look.
