The only advantages of a 79 Euro over a 79 US is looks (no tractor trailer side markers), weight (100-200lbs at most), and larger throttlebody (bigger but questionable improvement). Don't get me wrong, I would love to have a 79 Euro. The first 928 I tried to buy 8 years ago (and really wish I had) was a 79 Euro. However they aren't anything special. That one has issues, so look at it like it's any other 928 with similar issues.

1978/79 US/Euro are basicly the same except throttlebody and weight. If anybody needs the imprved 78/79 Euro TB contact Rixter about the one in my garage. The S (Euro S) 4.7L 300hp option was available 1980-83. I think 82-83 the S package became standard.

Looks good for the price. Can't tell about the interior, though.

An early 5spd is a fun "driver's car." Pick it up for a few K$ and have fun.

Yes, I saw in the Q&A that it is a 78. If the mechanicals are decent and the body is straight with the typical dings and paint chips, what is a good price for this? And yes the interior, at least from the pictures looks rough. But, I don't care that much about the interior, I want to drive it.

Oh yeah the wife said 'Are you going to trade your 944 for it?'. For now, I'm only allowed one toy.

If you are only allowed 1 toy then you must be allowed more than 1 wife!!! That's the rule around here anyway.

She still gives me a hard time about my '80 CJ7. I was going to do a full restoration, but was recently out of college and had no money. So it sat in my parents yard for more than a few years with the old rusted body just sitting on the ground next to the refinished frame. Well, my parents sold the house and so, I gave it to a friend who had recently finished a fiberglass body install.

The words 'Jeep in the yard' can still send me into a rage, because it is a sore topic that I failed one of my first loves. Too bad there wasn't a Rennlist for Jeeps about 10 years ago. I assume that there is one now.

I keep telling her that one day I will have another.

Oh yeah I did a visual inspection of the 928. And the guy did an accurate job of describing the outside condition. It is rough. I guess I would rather a good body and paint and work out the mechanical issues with the lists help
