Default Amelia Island Concourse-Mar.11-12th -Shark gathering?

Here is the link to the upcoming Ameila Island Concourse d Elegance just one county north of us from Jacksonville.

http://www.ameliaconcours.org/news/default.asp

In just ten years, this has grown to become rated as one of the top three Concourses in the US, including such giants as Pebble Beach. Ive been about half of those ten years and its an awesome event. All of the money goes to a great cause, Hospice of No. Fla.

The full event runs about four days, but all day Sunday is the day the public is allowed to view the cars on the 17th green of the golf course in front of the Ritz Carlton. Cars are shipped in from all over the US & the world & none are allowed back a 2nd time. Many are a one of a kind or concept car & theres a wide variety of cars, going back thru the ages. Always one car line honored(Porsche, Mercedes, Rolls, Packard, etc.) & always a car person honored( Carol Shelby, Johnny Rutherford, Hurley Haywood, Brian Redmond, etc.).

If several want to come up for that weekend, we could find some Shark things to do that Sat. Some of the thoughts we've had so far: A mid day/early afternoon get together at a oceanside city park. It has cabanas out at the beach & also has a lake with picnic tables too; ride on a ferry across the St. Johns river & take a scenic drive back thru Jacksonville-over bridges & ending up along a curving long road lined with large oak trees near where we live(we have no mountains or hills); drive our Sharks to a weekly car get together-a variety of local car clubs meet & display their rides at a public location that rotates each week; go out to eat at a restaurant; welcome to come to our house for some time inbetween for relaxation and socialization too in and around any of these activities. Then all drive up on Sunday morning the scenic drive to Ameila Island and see all the incredible cars at the Concourse.

A few mentioned at Sebring they'd be interested. I'm going either way. Pamela would definately go if other shark owners make it in. She's been before & would be 50/50 otherwise. Says I wear her out cause I take too long taking pictures & looking at all the cars! Once at the concourse, everyone would pretty much be on their own to go as fast or slow as they so desire. I promise, you wont be disappointed with the Concourse, I'm always impressed with the cars they have there. I'll try to post some pics I've taken at past events to show the variety of cars you'll see there.

Let me know if anyone thinks they'd like to come up & make it a weekend mini Shark gathering, sorry no hats I can give hotel info if anyone needs that too of course. Heck after typing all this, Pamela & I may just make that Saturday a day doing all that stuff even if its just the two of us by ourselves!

Hey Mel, that sounds good to us. We could probably make it up there around lunch time on Saturday.

Now all we need is some more Florida and South Georgia sharks to join us!
