...another quick update on another problem.

The night I got the car back, I went grocery shopping and ever since that night, I've have had a "thumping/banging" noise coming from the drives-side rear when coming to a stop......almost sounds like it's in the rear fender area.

Brakes maybe? CV joint? I was perplexed.....but I managed to use my quick solution skills and knowledge of the 928 model and solve the problem.

Turns out....a big can o' catfood had fallen out of one of the bags and was rolling around in the back hatch area.

With careful precision, I pushed aside all the parts that were in the way and, with steady hand, removed the can from the hatch area and the sound has gone away. Now I should be ready for that motor mount change, eh?

Jeff............can't add too much more to the strg pump thread other than I'm interested in your final findings.............new fluid cure or a new $$$ pump.

BTW...........is there something about 928s and their relationship with our feline pets? My cats are coming back after their 9 lives are up as people so that they to can drive the finest of GTs!!!

Garth has already sourced a re-built unit that wasn't a lot of those $$ symbols things. If the fluid swaps do not help, the pump should be going in after about 1346 more klms (when the timing belt is due for a retension).

It's funny - I have 3 of the critters and all three love the 928. They will not ride in a vehicle that is "high" off the ground - they hide in the foot areas. They love the 928 though....but only get rides after a nail trimming.
