Default LASER DETECTORS ... do they work?

I have had countless experiences with my Escort Passport SR-1, and not a single ticket ever. Yesterday I nailed the gas coming out behind a left-lane zombie/sleepwalker, and as I came into view to the predator, my detector did the equivalent of a Star Trek Enterprise All-Hands ..... LASER LASER LASER so I slowed faster than I'd accelerated, and kept it there .... laser continued to train on me about an 1/8th mile, and I just croozed by slinkily, almost wanting to wave.

DON'T LISTEN TO THE GRAMMIES OUT THERE. Your detector, set up right and RESPONDED TO INSTANTLY will absolutely save your hide. This was the umpteenth time for me.

Coming back from Joe's house on 'Bear Alley', the other day, I pulled over just before the on-ramp, just to clean my detector/jammers, front and rear!

Nice thing, it says "LASER FRONT" ... and a little later ... "LASER REAR" ...

Out of curiosity... do you guys get the flase warning from late model GM vehicles. I think the 3rd brake light is an LED of a frequency that sets off the V1. Just curious if the SR's do it too?

The only laser falses I get are evening sunshine when coming out of shadow, or when I turn off the headlights sometimes (annoying), the latter I think is a electrical issue.

I do get weird radar warnings on the freeway, which I think are either truck proximity warning systems, or the adaptive cruise controls on some cars.

NO.

This is the point with the Passports. You get nothing. Absolutely nothing (except X-band if you leave it on), till your speed is being measured. I can't live with the other detectors that are constantly humming and chirping and whistling and peeping and rattling.

I hear a thing, I nail the stompers.

I disagree. Instantly is not quick enough.
By the time a laser or "instant on" has you, your done for. The only time they will save you is if your in a group and your detector picks up the "scatter" or the cop just doesnt want to bother.
If youre by your self or the cop has it pointed AT you, it just tells you youve been nailed. No two ways about it. If your reactions are quicker than the electronics or doppler shift then
Just my .02
Im SO over due for a ticket.

That's precisely how I got nailed in PA. I almost got nailed in N.C. at SITM last year, but that was because of the blathering idiot sitting the passenger seat.

I suppose i should post a challenge .... if you say a laser detector won't save you .... tell us how many hits you've experienced, and how many resulted in tickets. Here's my score:

approx. 20 hits
1 ticket in Whistler Detector car
1 ticket in Valentine One car
zero tickets in SR-1 car.

Heinrich. Aren't you also using counter measures? This may be the difference.
