Its much further than that. Between my house in Plano and RUF is about 12 miles. My house in Plano to my house at MSR is about 80 miles, +/- 5 miles depending on the route I take that day.

Yeah, I think it's more like 60-ish miles (that's 100-ish KM to you Roger ). Not much in between but FWY. No twisties, no hills, etc. MSR is easy to get too, but pretty far west.

Hmm...well then, I might have to re-think where to start at, but I definately want to end up at MSR. I'll do a little searchin' tonight when I get off work.

Schocki - Yes, more details to follow, I'm not exactly sure on what weekend, I'll pick that when I find out what's best for everyone else. I'm glad so many people are interested tho, I love this!

Hey guys, I've been looking into it, and the guys that have told me so are right. I don't think meeting at RUF would be best, seeing as its so far away from MSR. I like the idea of meeting at Bone Daddy's, but even if it's open, Grapevine to MSR would be quite a drive. Would everyone be willing to meet at a restaurant somewhere in Ft. Worth then drive to MSR from there?

Whats wrong with you guys - do not shorten the trip - we need to make it as long as possible.
Next thing you will be arranging a transporter for all the cars.

Paul will be driving 400 miles, Schocki will be driving 120 miles.
I will go via Marble Falls just for the H--LL of it.

I agree! FW is too close to MSR. I know how to get to MSR in a direct route, maybe we can come up with something creative?

I say we meet at a resturant in Grapevine and caravan to MSR. That way the drive is long enough and Grapevine is kind of central with good access to the freeway. OR if we start early enough at a Einsteins Bagel or Starbuck's someplace nearby.

I nominate Jim M to lay out an interesting route between wherever and MSR via the back roads. We've already done this once from my place in Arlington

I'm in for whatever everyone decides. My son will have his license, therefor he will be able to drive his 944 S2. And I'll Hopefully have my new radiator in the Shark, and we could take both the cars.

What about meeting in Grapevine/Southlake, head out west on 114 a ways, south on 51 to Weathorford, down 171 to 377/Cresson/MSR? Just looking at Mapquest, that gets us out a little ways. Unless there's another more interesting route like out around Possum Kingdom and then down from there...
