Hm, when I picked up my '87 from Ron he said that it was already sold, I wonder what happened.

The paint job looks like a "Maaco Special" all the seals etc. are painted and I thought the headlight washer jets were painted as well but the pictures speak otherwise, but its in otherwise great condition considering the mileage.

Nice car, I've seen it in person and watched it get smoked by my friends turbo 16v GTI. In Rons defense, The GTI has had ALOT of work done. Good buy for anyone interested.

Does anyone know if there is a problem with the thrust bearing in this car that is common to automatic transmissions?
Have a '79 5 spd, the 928's are excellent designed and built cars.

Jeff . . . Plz define smoked? If you call a highly modified GTI only being able to get half a car lenth smoked, then yeah . . . i was smoked. This from a 50mph start.

Ross . . . It is sold. The new owner (dfwx) is selling it to buy a house.

I figured that might be the case, wasn't exactly sure.
Did he pick the car up already? Item location says Wolfe City.

Well Ok not exactly smoked but it surely changed my outlook on GTI's. You have to admit that thing is fast! Gonna be even faster in about 2 months if Scott ever gets off his a$$ and finishes that new motor he's building. Jeez! It's ok to lose to a car that has 4 less cylinders. Besides his is 5sp, which gave him an unfair advantage IMO.

Kevin, You don't understand this isn't your everyday GTI. That white shark is georgeous!

Ross . . . He just picked up the car 3 weeks ago. I can't believe he's willing to take such a loss. I'm almost tempted to buy it back. The car doesn't look like much with the cheapo paint job and rough interior, but that SOB runs like a ****** and the A/C & cruz both work and has LSD..

Hell I'm almost tempted to buy it but I realize I can bolt on a SC for the price of that shark.
