The key with the red head is the Valet key (no alarm)
The short blank is also no alarm and meant to be used with the lighted head
The long blank is for cars with alarm and is used with the lighted head.

Got my new factory key with lighted keyhead today - and it could not be more perfect!

Now I face the dilemma, whether to use the new one, or the original one. I think I'll opt for new and preserve the original with the monochrome crest.

I only have one key for my 89 S4, so I would like to have another one. There's something uncomfortable about sending my only key through the mail all the way across country though.

You could get a key blank from Mark or ebay...then find a local locksmith who can angle cut the key....thats what I did...works great!
