i actully have two questions. ive just installed headers and borla exaust with no cat . it runs very loose and loppy i would expect this, but ide like some other opinnions. also with no cat how much rich mixture should smell? ive leaned it out via mixture screw ,all components are new it still stinks enough to make your eyes water with car running in my garage the car is a 78 cis injection thanks much

 

My '79 exhaust smelled very rich when the cat was off. I constantly tweeked the idle mixture hoping the smell would improve and it never did. I recently replaced the cat and no more smell. I think that the smell is something you'll have to live with, especially with a two valve per cylinder CIS set-up.
