e-bay shady deal o' the week
Seller writes things like "My loss is your gain. i am having surgury and need to pay my medical bills" and "...got a new engine that was just dropped into the car. my mechanic was finishing putting it all together..."

Note two things. One, the evenly undisturbed dirt around the rusty bolts attaching the strut tower brace to the car. Two, there are wires wrapped around that strut tower brace. Now call me an ignorant fool who has never replaced an 85/86 928 motor - but I have worked on one. That strut tower bar looks like it has never been off the car, making engine replacement very tricky.
Don't get me started about the open ends of the incomplete intake oran piping.

I feel sorry for the sucker who buys this thing. What's with the pics from across the street? No doubt it's to keep you from seeing what a hunk-o-junk this thing really is. Add flat tires, and this is clearly...

You know what the across-the-street shot made me think of? It was like he was stalking the car.
I bet he owes the grease monkey a bit of money for that shiny new engine that looks just like the old one, and had to sneak up on the guy's lot to take the pics.

Or, the alternate reality:
"My mechanic put in an engine from a junkyard, and later realized it had bent valves, and I can't afford to fix it properly..."
Either way, I think he's lying about the new, perfect engine, that just needs a few finishing touches...

The interrior shots show that this car was taken care of and it's not one of those neglected junks I see on e-bay evey week.
The BIN is way to high, but the starting price is nice!
I bought a car like this twice. Both cases the engine was in pieces and the sellers were honest.

Just to play devil's advocate, you could swap the engine from the bottom.

Lucky you!
My gut feeling is that that motor has been in that car and DOA for a long time.
Heck, I hope I'm wrong and whoever adopts this shark gets lucky too.
I do like that exterior color, (edit) OK it's Garnet Red. Nice.
