On behalf of a friend of mine I just posted a request for a source of pirate Boxster WSMs on the Boxster board. There were a few replies but they were all edited and there was a stern telling-off from the moderator for inciting copyright infringement! Be warned. Some of the natives are rather hostile over there.

They are hostile here too. Those is banning words. Seriously The reason for the obvious concern is that Porsche could shut down the forum for allowing that to go on. So in short it isn't really looked upon well as what would we do then?? We would have to work on our cars or something.

Using the word "pirate" in your original message may not have been a smart choice of words. Furthermore Boxsters are still in production and provide a substantial amount of turnover for official Porsche distributors. That's a different story than what's happening with the 928. Porsche has somewhat of a problem with the reputation their official workshops have when dealing with 928's. In general it's bad. They need someone to uphold their claims that Porsches are wise investments over a long time and if the official Porsche Centres aren't taking care of that, it wouldn't be smart of them to deny a group like this the chance to maintain them independent of PC's.
