Default Closing windows manually

Never considered this before but I just spotted it on another thread. The sunroof can be manually closed and the seats manually adjusted using the emergency crank tool. But, is there any way to close the windows manually?

hello Colin...

That's a great question...I've had my drivers window stuck on more than one occasion. It would be nice if there was a small hole where you can insert the hex tool (for the seat) to manually move the window.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to do this. if I remember correctly, there's a worm gear on the motor. Because of this, it's imposible to move the window mechanism without turning the motor.

The only thing I can think of would be to have 2 extra leads from the motor (one + and the other -) exiting the door panel (probably in the storage compartment of the door). In the event that a wire breaks, you can hook up a battery to the 2 wites to manually power the motor.

Because of age and time, one of the wires powering my drivers window cracked and eventually broke. The only way I could get power to the window was to open and close the door while pressing the window button. The solution mentioned above would have addressed this issue (until I was able to fix it permenantly). However, in cases where the motor is frozen or no longer works, you'd have to take apart the door.
