Default Checkered seat fabric source FOUND!!!!!
This a cross tread from the 944 board. Looks like finally there is a German supplier for the checkered seat fabric. It's not cheap but at least it's available.

ooh, thanks for the link. i've got a black pin striped cloth interior that has the passenger seat ripped up. maybe i'll be able to get some fabric and have a shop fix it.
