Default Big Three Sell 997 Wheels?

Any one of the big three going to sell 997 wheels to us 928ers? I will likely be looking for a set of these with new rubber and prefer to support our 928 community when possible. I haven't seen them offered by you guys on your websites, but thought that you may given the decent offsets for 928s.

Thanks.

What I find confusing is the Mille Miglia MM11-3 looks like a Carrera replica wheel, yet they are not sold in a Porsche bolt pattern.

We have been looking for a good source for 997 wheels but haven't located one that would make pricing realistic yet. I have recommended them for several people and Stan has a set on his PearlGlanz Yellow 88' but finding them at a resellable price isn't easy.

Check eBay - lots of good deals there.

The 996 wheels look even better and also bolt right on.

Hey Randy,

Even with e-bay it's hard to buy them at a good enough price to make any money on them reselling to our customers. Simple economics, buy them at $2k, sell them at $2k, make a customer happy, lose money. That doesn't keep the lights on.

I bought a set of perfect 18" 996 wheels with near-new Toyo Proxis tires for $1100 on eBay.

I have been watching ebay. I wanted to see if I could support our community. Also, I already have the 996 5 spoke wheel. The 997 wheel has a good front offset for the 928 (ET 57).

Thanks everyone.

997 replicas are already available, I do not know if they are worth the effort or not. I would prefer to use Porsche designed wheels as I believe they are of considerably higher quality, strength and lighter weight. Aftermarket Turbo Twists and Twin Turbo wheels are considerably heavier than the factory parts and are known to be more prone to bending.

Dave,

That is kind of what I hve heard too..

the 996 wheels the seller above claims are only slightly higher weight and much greater strength... but if they used pot metal to make them then they are ****
