Hans:

Yup..and it's coming out since I'm sending the strap to someone. PM me if interested in the tank.

nlnielson:

I'm pretty sure I've got all the window switches tucked away. How many do you need? As for the distributor, I've got an interested party concerning the engine. They may not need it, but let me hold on to it until I sort that out. PM me if still interested.

The rules for charitable deductions of cars changed dramatically just over one year ago (which is why you see and hear so little advertising) basically your deduction is now based on what the charity actually sells the car for and NOT SOME ASSUMED market value. You get a report of the sale as does the IRS so you may take the correct deduction. Most "charities" will now ONLY take a complete car. Most junk yards will not accept partially stripped cars or will charge you a fee to remove the car . I believe that Brendan experienced this when he disposed of a shell.

My local junk yard, in the worst case (shell only), will take the car away for free. If the car is worth something they will give you around $50-$75/car. I got rid of about 5 cars like this in the past.

As a point of clarification, the only question I have been asked is "does the car drive?" Naturally, the answer is no. There was no questions as to why. The reciept you are given is for $500. They agree to send you a reciept of the auciton and if it's more, you claim more. If it's not, they eat the difference. Most auctions I am aware of start bidding at $400, so there isn't much to lose.

If there is an issue, I'm sure there is a home for it somewhere, even if I have to have 20th Street come down form on high (Phoenix) and haul it out.

I'll be away until Saturday.

All feel free to PM me if there are specific requests. The car is gone (one way or the other) on Monday.

I've got a list, so far, of all who have expressed interest in parts. For the most part, I should not have any problems. The body panels/pieces, may prove to be too much. We'll find out tomorrow!

I was just trying to sell my S2 to buy another. Hopefully another Rennlister will pick up the green S2 on ebay.

Is it too late? I need a Bosch ignition module - little device that sits in the passenger fender. Still available?
