Default Custom Camshafts

Of those here who have or are planning on having custom camshafts made, who did or are you considering having do the work? Who advised your or how did you arrive at your design specifications? Anyone here use camshaft design software or engine simulation/design software? Any recommendations for, lessons learned, shops to use/avoid, software or design help recommendations or warnings? (both 16v and 32v)

Thanks

I've driven a car with the 928 Developments cams, and they are pretty nice. No more info than that...

Barry,

There has to be more that you can say about the experience! Did the car feel stronger, powerband moved up?

Greg Gray had Piper in England design (and maybe build?) some 16V cams for him. DEVEK sells welded and reground 32V cams (Elgin?).

What ever became of Logicam in CA? They started out with variable cam sprockets and ventured into camshafts. Bob Devore used them successfully in his 16v.

Ah, sorry... Well its a 5.8l GTS 5spd, so yeah it felt fast! Hahaha :^). 80-130 came on very strong, and incredibly smooth. They are very "even" cams... Power all the time. Well engineered power band.

i had piper regrind my GTS cams with more lift and duration. the longer stroke engines produce power and tourque further down in the rev range anyway and the slight increases made to my grind keep the power very even all the way through till at least six k. if you take a look at 928 developmants web site you can see numbers for a range of grinds progressing from mild (aka stock S4) upwards. the GT cams mark the factory limits, devek say there 'b' cam is a bit beyond the GT specs and can be run in a stock head.
