My Euro '91 GT was delivered with the insulated tubes for the German market. It was a late '91, built in June of that year.

I had replaced them with the $12 each (IIRC) plastic ones with no noticable difference in performance. I have since replaced them again, with a blower. That change resulted in a noticable improvement in performance, if you know what I mean. :>)

Yes, the Swiss have higher noise restrictions than other European countries.

The ones with the sand seperators were for the Middle East and North African markets... i know all the Saudi cars had them and any car for the GCC had them. I have the regular tubes in my car and will eventually have to replace them for the sand seperator ones once i ship my car back to the Middle East. Regardless, using the pre 92 tubes will make no difference.
