Default transmission vacuum line

Could someone tell me how to find the vacuum line that goes to the transmission. My 1986.5 shifts so hard it feels like a 50cal going off under the seat! I think the vacuum line is not connected to the engine causing the tranny to shift extra hard.

During the SC install, we had to re-route a new line. Try to find the 7-way spliter on the back side of your intake manifold, it's the one that starts there and snakes back under the torque tube back to the tranny. It plugs in the trans on the drivers side into the modulator.

Check out the diagram (10 and E). http://forums.rennlist.com/upload/vacuumlayout.jpg

How long has it been shifting hard? Any recent maintenance?

Don't be tempted to hook the transmission line to the line on the brake booster - that one goes thru a check valve, and would always have high vacuum. You need intake manifold vacuum, which drops when you open the throttle.
