WOW...Sterling, that is pretty...It must be hard to close the hood when you are looking at that monster. Off topic...how'd your oil pressure problem resolve itself ??? Or was some mechanical repair necessary...I lost track of your thread on this issue... Hope all is back to normal for you.
BTW...DR, are the fuel rails and linkages anodized on Jim's beautifully restored 86 engine ??? Or painted. I don't think I've seen them in that "Copper" finish...even on nicely restored cars in the past. Beautiful touch though...It really stands ouot nicely.

Hi Jeff,
>BTW...DR, are the fuel rails and linkages anodized on Jim's beautifully restored 86 engine ???
I think they are powder coated instead of anodized.
> Beautiful touch though...It really stands ouot nicely.
Yes it does. I wondered why Jim would call every week for 2 years (or longer) and order a long list of hardware. We used to kid him that he was ordering a new 928 one bolt/nut at a time... after finally seeing it this year I realized he DID!! It was a labor of love and you have to see it in person to truly appreciate it.

DR...not surprised about that..(he called often to revise/add to the list of hardware)...Painstaking attention to detail, on both these engines, certainly shows..( both Jim's engine restoration, and Sterling's beautiful, mammoth stroker engine..., show the pride, and attention to detail, that makes owning and restoring (or breaking new ground in re- engineering the original platform, in Sterliing's case)... one of these unique and powerful GTs so rewarding an experience.) I only wish...I had more available resources to throw into my 86.5 resto/upgrade. With an 18 year old in college, I am just priviledged to be counted amongst the "owners"... category of these great cars. That alone...brings a smile to my face on every remote start...or 30 mile commute down the interstate to St. Louis.
