yes, another offset question, but for 19's
I've searched but have found little about offsets on 19 inch wheels.
I'm looking at some Antera 343's. The fronts are 19x8.5 ET 49 mounted with 235/35/19. The rears are 19x9.5 ET 48 mounted with 275/30/19. Will these work on an '89 S4?
Thanks...

Wade...why don't you check with Keith Widom. He did a complete study of the 19" wheels before he purchased his, or maybe he had them custom made .

blau928 is running 18x10ET47 (IIRC) with 285s. If the tire OD is the same, his wheels would have about 3/4" both inboard and outboard of those 19x8.5s and his tires would be about 1" beyond the 235s. That's assuming the OD is the same or close and the sidewalls bulge about the same.

Mr.Orion.
You might want to have a look here https://www.928gt.com/default1.htm click on the photo galleries and have a look at DR's red.
He is running 19's 9.5 up front with 265/30's.
Very nice.

I'm running 18x8 in front with 49mm offset with no problems. It is right against the outer edge of the wheel well, but it doesn't stick out or rub. BUT, when you go to 8.5" the offset becomes different. I think you have the right idea, test mount them, even without tires you will be able to make a better judgment.

The fronts will stick out a little. Before I put the 18X10 ET 65 with 285/30 I used to run 235/40-18 with 18X8 ET 50 in front. Those Antera's sound like 997 wheels, and should fit.. I am guessing that the OD of the tire is 25.5 or close depending on the tires.....
(The offset of 18/19 in wheels should not be different. It's the OD of the tire that will matter).
I think DR's 9.5 in fronts are ET86. kibort has a set of 10in fronts that fit under the wheel well very nicely, that I believe are 86-90mm..

Offset is optimal at 52 for up to 17's, and then things change as you go wider and taller. "Stick out" is the opposite of "rubs the shocks". Positive offset makes wheels rub the shocks, negative offset makes wheels stick out. So, if you have a 52mm and you go with a wider contact patch, you need to raise offset to keep from "sticking out" which incidentally can damage your fender lip. But in pulling the wheel running surface inward, you tend to hit the shock and also the fender liner. It's a fine balance. A 49 should stick out significantly. Remember that you tirn the wheel as the spring compreses, and that can change the "sticking out"-ness of the wheel a lot as you drive nd hit the fender.

Nope, that offset with that width would probably not even bolt up on a 928 as the wheel would hit the control arms. For sure it would when you turned the wheels lock to lock. Offsets that high and wider than 9.5" would require additional steering racks stops or extreme caution when turning. Mine are approx. 70mm
