Have you got any upper A arm bushings? Porsche doesn't offer them separately from the arms anymore, and the aftermarket ones suck. I have someone exploring sources in Germany, but am not too optimistic.

Here is a picture of the OEM part you are trying to remove.
They are inserted up from the bottom, so the flange (should be) on the bottom.
You may be able to get a screwdriver in there and pry on that flange to pull them down.
It sounds like most of you have had the "they almost fell out" experience I am used to. The cars I have done it on either have or have had oil pan leaks so this crossmember was well soaked in oil - that may have helped.
Yes - there are upper A-Arm Polyurethane bushings available.
Here is the product description:

Here is the installation instructions for the Upper A-Arm bushings if you want to read them before purchasing....

The hardest part is clearly taking the two nuts off the inner fender well that hold the upper A Arm on.
IMO, easiest done from the bottom, but this will vary depending on the MY of your car.
Once the upper A-Arm is in your hands, it is about 40 minutes of bench-work per side.
The upper A-Arm goes back into the car faster than it comes out.
Yes, you should expect an alignment after this is performed as the Caster angle will now be different.
