Yes..I am carrying one extra key for the new hatch lock. Yes the 3 pin harness connector behind the upper hatch trim piece, is securely connected to the cars factory alarm harness, and Yes the alarm only goes off, when I unlock and open the hatch with the key...NOT, if I remotely open it...OR, if I "disable" the Viper alarm system prior to opening the hatch with the key. So...I'm inclined to believe its the aftermarket alarm thats having a fit when the hatch is opened with the key, and not the factory alarm. BUT..the alarm doesn't go off if I unlock the door with the key without "disabling" the Viper alarm system. I am going to take it back to the dealer tomorrow for some additional debugging. I think this is a relatively minor issue, (or should I say...I HOPE this is a relatively minor issue)

Jeff - did it only do this after you changed the lock or did it always do this since the install?
I don't really see how the lock swap woulfd have affected this? (short of not connecting the switches at the hood lock).

Sounds like they may not have connected the hatch unlock wire into the new alarm... It does go to the factory alarm so its right where its needed.

You may want to check that the switch works - there is a center common connection + 2 more that it switches a momentary connection to when you turn the switch clockwise (for one) and anticlockwise (for the other). There should be no electical connections between any wires when the key is out or in the neutral position...

Since I put the "recycled" rear hatch lock cylinder in the car...I have only turned it "clockwise" to unlock the hatch...I have never turned it to the left, and as a matter of fact...I had forgotten that you "could" turn the hatch lock key to the left on a car with the factory alarm system. But...you could be onto something here, as when the Viper system was installed...my rear hatch lock, was still broken, and had not as yet been replaced. So...after I purchased and installed the "working " replacement lock, and connecting it to the factory harness...I cannot say "definitively"...if the rear hatch lock was "ever" connected to the Viper systems electronics due to it being broken at the time the aftermarket alarm was installed. Hence...another good reason to make a return visit to the dealer to get this issue straightened out. Even with this quirk though...the Viper system with its Remote Start range...and "Warn Away" system, and watchdog like reliability, make this one heck of an upgrade, and a prudent investment for any 928 owner wanting to protect his car and killer stereo. The Remote Start is also a blessing when its 13 degrees outside, and about 40 in the garage.

Hi, whille we are on the subject. In trying to get to #32 I broke of the pin shaft that the wiring harness connect to. I'll pay the $40 for 928 613 114 00 but does anyone know whether it comes wired and ready to plug into the harness?
