Sorry about the state of this Weissach. Funny thing is I have #197 but, the plaque on the dash says #217. So, maybe I have the "extra" one.

Very strange numbering from Porsche. Simple one number typo could be easy to explain but this is something else. If VIN's last digits were 217 it could make sense.

the 217 is in the VIN, but its in positions 13 to 15

No Dan we do not tow them HOME , they go right to the shop... And they almost NEVER leave I would still maintain as I did two years ago that for a car to be sold as a car it needs to run and preferably drive.
