Default S4 rear wing.. paint or not?

ok.. I'm the one who snagged the folding wing off ebay
I've been considering painting it to match, even searched and found a writeup
anyone had this done recently? cost?.. I think it'll be a nice "upgrade" for the green machine
other things I'm doing this winter:
replacement dash ready
pod leaving shortly for leather recover
leather shift boot to replace the accordian already dyed and ready
pull and condition seats and redye
install new speakers, ipod going into cassette box
aero mirrors if I get the itch

Rixter as rare as it is shouldn't you rather paint a solid one? I've seen a great paint job but it is EASY to do a terrible job. The thing is made of foamy rubber.

I say leave it black. It is a similar material to the bumperettes correct? Unless you were going to get them all I'd leave it. Just my .02

Love the green!!

I must say I do love the green myself, beautiful car..........Id leave the wing black myself, if its faded or ugly and must be painted, I'd go black and mimic the flat like finish of the wing when new.....my .02

Hahha that is the trick ... if you need or want one, it can cost you say 1k .... however, try to sell one, and you won't get 200 bucks. Pretty much the story of the 928.

I'd leave it black and focus on new wheels first. Dish wheels just don't do that beautiful car justice.

I say paint it. I like the color match of the wings to body - makes it look updated! I plan on doing mine. Captain Earl said that if you do paint it, use "Bulldog" primer to ensure good paint adhesion.

I think painting tends to make the wing stick out too much and draw attention away from the rest of the car.

but that's just my opinion.

I'd also do the mirrors or the wheels first. Mirrors are the biggest update - takes 10 years (sometimes 20) off the look of the car.

thanks for the nice comments on the car
the wheels will get changed when I find something I like enough to buy
mirrors are probably going on in the spring
gonna clean up the folding wing and get it on next week then decide what to do about painting
