Dave Loomas and I have talked about the next phases of the development....
I understand the Y-Pipe for the 16v cars will be next - I am am excited about that one. I have so many dyno runs with the 2-into-1 single OEM cat still installed, I'd love to see what the numbers would be once it is uncorked!
Also coming - a Headers-to-928 exhaust y pipe or x pipe (16v or 32 v) - which I think has been missing for a long time. That'll be a good one.

Carl,
Headers to X, to duel for the 16v would be nice. I've seen a Magnaflow duel in duel out, 2 1/2 both ways out there. You could keep it down one side of the car for us OB guys.
So for me I'm thinking, headers to X, to 2 glasspack style mufflers like Tony H. was running, ( my car is now emission exempt in Texas) to one Magnaflow duel in duel out, then straight pipes to the back of the car with some decent looking tips at the back. Add a supercharger and I should be able to keep up with the S4 and up guys at the next tour in Texas!

Thanks I was just wondering if they were required for legality in California. I still consider myself a newbie in this state and that is why I asked. I will be happy to disconnect the thing if it is not required.

In some areas it may not be legal even if it is cleaner than the factory system. It does not carry a CARB exempt number and does not have a factory part number which would preclude it even if it's better...
Some places will fail you on the visual test for not having an operating air pump without even testing the actual output. Even if we do install an air pump connection they may still fail you for having non-standard (factory) cats. Don't ask me why they continue to use this logic with the advances in catalytic converter technology but they are the ones you have to please. If you can find a logical test station you will have no problem passing if your car is in proper operating condition.

We make a lot of our own parts - but I have no interest in making everything. As a practical matter, we CAN'T make everything ourselves. In the case of exhaust - there is such a tooling setup for all those mandrel bends and the flanging, and of course - the patterns - that once you are all set up to do exhaust patterns and welding - you might as well make a bunch.
So, at this point, with Dave's investment and aquired knowledge in manufacturing the X-pipe, he is the natural choice to make the Y pipe and the Header pipes.... his quality will be better than a newbie and his per piece costs will be lower.
I am just glad he came forward with these parts.... you don't know how many calls a month we get from 928 owners looking for some more HP without neccesarilly taking the big step of supercharging to get it done. We answer a LOT of exhaust questions!
The exhaust aftermarket for the 928 was limited to
1) headers,
2) a Borla Cat Back for the early cars (that suffers from Italian lead times) and 3) a choice of 2 RMB's for the very late cars only.
Pretty slim pickens. Lots of models in the middle with no options at all.
So I applaud that these have finally shown up - and I applaud any businessman who is willing to invest money in development of after-arket parts for a limited-production, discontinued car model in the hopes that there are enough enthusiats out there to float the boat.
