Wow this could make a nice x-mas gift for someone looking for a project. If it were only 9K miles closer.

Would it be worth it to ship something like this to the Pac coast? I guess if we were to find someone in the military it would be easy to get it back to the mainland.

One of the most regretable actions I have ever taken was to take a cherry Porsche Speedster to Hawaii. Then I compounded that by flying a brand new 911 to Hawaii....twice. Must have had a screw loose in my head. I think Roger has the correct attitude. If you want that car, consider buying a shotgun and aiming it at your foot and pulling the trigger first. Then if you still want it, go ahead. Do you realize that the abosolute maximum speed limit ANYWHERE in that state is 55 mph? How many P cars do you know that can last being driven at 55 mph and no more? How many P cars are designed for that? Well, P cars and Hawaii smokey bears are not compatible at all. And I would also question what kind of engine work was performed over there? I sent my Speedster engine to the mainland to be rebuilt, but did much of my own work out of self defense. You need a Saturn over there; they have plastic bodies that don't rust. If you get out of second gear, you are illegal. And probably about to be busted. Why do you think I would prefer to live in California(where it is bad enough)? Try getting a good paint job there. My mother's Mercedes was painted by the best shop in Honolulu, and it would not stand up against the average California jobs. Take the shotgun blast. It will hurt less.

It can't be all bad .... look beside the parts box: it comes with a china tea service for those tete a tete encounters .... while waiting for the tow truck down by the beach ...

But Garth you may have missed the missing drivers door window; makes for a slighter 'cooler' drive in the frozen North than along the stroll along big W beach front!

The only place worth having a Porsche in Hawaii is the Big Island.
My sister just bought a house in the Ka'u district (Oceanview), miles from civilization. That and Saddle road are the only two places worth speeding. Even then you still need to watch for stray donkies and Army trucks.

Scott even if it had to stay in the garage and all I could do was to rev her up every fw days, I'd still want one
