Dan, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 have all been used depending on model year and all are safe and work fine, as long as they are properly installed and correct offsets.

Thanks for all the great responses.
I"ve decided to just get a set of tires for now and enjoy the 17's for a few years. I can research wheel choices between now and the next time I need tires.
I do really like the style of those 997 wheels though.

Good for you Greg and you may just find a better deal on wheels later on. I know it is tough to not want to dump all of your hard earned cash into your new baby the first day. You will find that you made the right choice bar none.
Dan, go back and kick that guy in the nuts! He hasn't a clue of what he is talking about and is clearly ignorant. While you're enlightening him on this, ask him if he can get you a new set of " Metric" Johnson Rod's for the 64 valve 928!

There must be a strong market for 17" GTS wheels. John, you're the fourth person to let me know of their interest in buying my wheels.
So what are the original GTS wheels called? Is this what people refer to as CUP wheels?

Actually called C2 wheels.
94-95 were cup wheels like the 993

I had several folks contact me as well when I was thinking about getting rid of my original GTS 17" C2's. Mine have the RDK sensors in them (I suspect yours do as well) and I tell ya, to replace these wheels would be VERY expensive. They are very difficult to find and are original Factory Porsche rims FOR the 928. What's the value?...mmmmmmm, you could probably get around $2K or more if in decent shape and you weren't in a rush. Quick sale would get you $1500. Try replacing them and you are paying upwards of $3K. I have seen folks just let them go for $100-$200 a piece....very generous of them (to put it nicely)!!! That is just plain giving them away!
Sorry John, I can't let the guy get taken advantage of.
I was going to yank the C2 Mille Miglia's off the 82 and stick the factory C2's on, but I recently talked myself into widening the original Phone Dial's, painting them, wrapping them in big balogna's and putting THOSE back under the 82. I had decided to just keep my factory C2's a safe place for now...right next to the original factory intake tubes.

Of course John was just kidding. Hey, with that much interest, I would opt for a bidding war!
Keith, I really like the 19" wheels you have on your car. Is there a webpage with pictures of your car?

'92 to early '94 GTS wheels are generally called Cup wheels in Europe as they were first used in 911 Cup cars. In US they are known as C2 based on 964 Turbo etc. '94-95 GTS wheels are Cup II in Europe and simply Cup in USA. Confucing to say the least.

Out of curiousity (a bit of a hijack), does anyone know if the original Porsche C2 wheels have porsche part number stamped inside? I ask because my GT came with C2's installed (I also got the D90's with RDKs ) and I don't see any Porsche part number on them. For my old 82, I had purchased a set of C2 replicas (Borbet?) and I recall seeing the "Borbet" name on the inside of the wheel. I figured the wheels on the GT were also Borbets, but I don't see the name anywhere. Is it possible that I have some original Porsche C2 wheels (non-RDK thhough)? Just curious.
