Default Strange Elex and Extra power Take 2

Hi all I have the 88 S4 Ivory/Pearl effect Show car, I went out to take the shark out of the garage and give it a wash and the battery was dead again the 2nd time in so many days, I had repalecd the ignition switch, and headlight switch but the HVAC system and blower still ran if the slider was not placed in the off position. This was with the key removed.
This was starting to **** me off the damn thing is posessed, So I put a charger on the battery after disconnecting the ground wire, after about an hour I put the ground back on and went to the fuse panel, I turned on the HVAC slider and fan and started pulling relays, this is with the key removed, I pulled every relay out and pulling the blower relay killed the fan but i could still hear the HVAC unit running finally I pulled out the IGNITION relay # V, As I was pulling it I heard a click when the relay finally came out the HVAC shut off this was the last relay to be removed,
I looked at the bottom of the relay and I saw some green stuff (corrosion) coming out of the bottom I then went and replaced this relay with the horn relay and the HVAC unit didnt come back on then i replaced the blower relay and it would not come either so i then went and using the 928 fus/relay printout from 928 international I then began comparing the relays with the part numbers they were all good to go and none of the other relays had any kind of corrosion on them I then installed everything and then turned on the key, Bingo the HVAC unit came back on and then it could be turned on and off with the key.
I then removed the original #V relay cover and what a mess it was inside the cover,it looked like it had been fully submeged for a few days, outside looked brand new except for the green stuff coming out of the bottom anyway it looks like the relay had frozen in the closed position so this was the culprit, anyway my advice to all is give your car a good washing and after your done go to the fuse panel and look at the blower box on top of the relay board see if you have any leaks if you do get some 3M black caulking it comes in little strings remove your blower box and recaulk the seal this will prevent water from running into your fuse/relay panel and shorting out all of your electrics also pull all of the relays with the battery disconnected and see if any have corossion on them if they do it would be a wise idea to open up any relay and see what it looks like inside, I hope this info helps some of the other shark owners with funky elex problems, Good luck, Stan
