Default The 828?

http://www.obvio.ind.br/obviona/828.htm

It does seem to share a few (very few) of the 928 design elements, mostly the door configuration, early phonedial wheels, and the model number font.

And check out the cute little 'shark fin' roof antenna.

Nicole said the early 828 (not the 828/2 you have pictured) had 928 taillights and maybe headlights(?).

The 928 taillights have become far too expensive ! and $14,000 I think not . I am waiting until the Chinese cars get here and they are coming !

Are they 'updated' copies of 1940-1980 Russian cars like everything else China builds... airplanes, tanks, ships, tractors, rifles, factory machinery... well, except the HMV which they copied from us except for the headlights.

Well, airplanes, tanks, ships, rifles, etc are very good. But Russian cars are not(trust me!) except one military suv(UAZ) which I find better off-road then any other out there. So, it would be really dumb of China to copy Russian cars

Come on... Ladas are great cars...

I wouldn't mind having a UAZ or the new GAZ, but we're getting offtopic.

there are something like 30 different companies building cars of one type or another many of which seem quite odd or as you describe above. But Buicks are popular and BMWs too . The major players are joint ventures with Japanese firms Korean firms and building basically 5-6 year old models with emissions equipment not quite to US standards. As I recall VW is also active there. GMs main parts supplier "Delphi" who is in bankruptcy and trying to flack out on pension obligations specifically omitted their asian operations from the proceedings because they are so profitable. Malcom Bricklin who first imported Subaru cars the infamous 360 microcar, later made the Bricklin gullwing cars was working on bring in one of the Chinese cars in a couple years.

Holy crap, this thing is actually cool! Looks like they're using a Mercedes NAV screen integrated with their carputer, and a ZF CVT tranny with paddle shift! The highest power engine sounds like its the one from the Dodge SRT-4, which is quite the potent little bastard. I work for a Dodge dealer, and the SRT-4 likes to break loose as is, but that motor in a car half its size would be a kick! Too bad its hideous... I'd still buy one

I never heard of that. Usually Samara in Russia is called Lada 2108, 2109 which are supposed to be exported. They use Russian engines and all other components, so I don't know how Porsche was involved...This are allright cars, nothing special about them. Sometimes they were equipped with Wankel engine, which made them very quick. The scariest thing in my life was going in one of this cars 110mph.
