Yes I am looking at those, but due to the location I feel the reusable type would be best.

Yes, about 17-18mpg with 5 people and a loaded bed full of 928 parts at steady 80mph cruise (7 hour trip to Frenzy).

Yes, it is a 928 filter, exact size and shape of the K&N. The ram air kit was advertised as having a K&N filter, but it arrived with that blue one. I think it is one of the Green Filter versions (they make them in different colors) and plan to call the Ram Air guys to confirm brand. I also noticed it was not oiled and need to investigate it further.

I haven't tried those yet, but Wally has done some research and found the Green Filter brand was flow rated far and above every other brand including K&N.

It is true that K&N can mess up the hot wire MAF of a 928. My experience is that this is more likely to be due to over-enthusiastic oiling afrer cleaning.

For that reason I don't recommend K&N for >MY85 928s

Dave............its very disappointing that after all this time there's no note to explain 'what the hell happened' although I believe Jeannie and I have the logistics sorted going forward. Again thanks for your generosity in the second shipment. If possible can you respond to the bump stop question when I transfer the OEM coilvoer pieces to the new springs and shocks?

You always use (or reuse) the rubber bump stops. The only part not used (that is not included) when going from Boges to Bilsteins is the little metal gold colored cap.

Listen to John! This is as credible of advice as one can get as his company does MAF rebuilds. Either he hates rebuilding them or the gentleman has integrity. I sense the latter.

If & when my MAF finally goes I believe I will go back to paper. Then no more wondering IF I am fouling my sensor or underoiling my filter.

So the process is once the OEM coil overs are removed I compress the spring, remove the nut, washer and upper spring perch. Release the spring and remove. Then the dust cap, the little metal gold colored cap, the bump stop and the plastic washer are then all tranfered onto the new Bilstiens?

You got it right except for the "little metal colored cap", again thast only fits boges and konis, not used on Bilsteins.

Here are a couple of dyno run graphs from tests I made when improving the performance of my '90GT. These runs were back to back, within a few minutes of each other. The K&N made less power all across the rpm range. I've done several more back to back tests on other 928s and never found the K&N to improve power as compared to a stock Porsche paper filter. The Porsche filter doesn't have to be especially clean to out perform the K&N.

I hear you, but must question. If someone is going to dyno to see how good their car is, they would probably make sure everything is fit and in good working order before showing up. Some may check plugs, wires, even pop in that new air filter that they have in the 928 Intl or 928 Specialists box in the garage. I like to run fuel injector cleaner a week before going anywhere eventful. I would certainly clean my air filter before going.

So when the tests are done, stock old and dirty or stock new and spotless?

Have to question these things.

K&N. Reusable. And keeps you from getting speeding tickets.

Not sure how much filtering the poorly fitting K&N does.
But when I look through factory paper filter at a light source, I don't see
anything on the other side.
Look through a K&N, and I can see through pinhole openings of the bright light.

DR, where can we find Green Filter Brand 928 air filter.
Just went to your website and I didn't see it there. Yet?
