Default plug wires/firing order

My new ending tune up project, I need to verify the firing order. Looking from the front of the car: Passenger side, front to rear, 1-3-5-7, Driver side front to rear, 2-4-6-8. I attempted to run the car, I am uncertain if my order is wrong or I am missing something obvious...

A problem may be the way Porsche numbers the cylinder. 1-4 are on the right (pass.) side and 5-8 are on the left.

US made cars (GMs and Fords) alternate numbering to get even/odd sides.

Firing order: 1 3 7 2 6 5 4 8

Crap. Can't post the pic I found.

1, 2 ,3 and 4 are on the right side of the car counting form the front. 5, 6, 7 and 8 are on the left side (US driver) counting from the front.

driver's side is 5-8
passenger side is 1-4
Both going front to back.
1 and 5 by the radiator.
4 and 8 by the firewall.

Perhaps a better way of putting it that cylinder #1 is the fartherest forward on the driver's right as he/she is sitting in the seat, while cylinder #5 is the fartherest forward on the driver's left. Doesn't matter which side the driver is sitting on...
