Oil pump should be a snap! I am not sure they leak too often at the gasket, but I guess it does happen. Pull the pulley gear and undo the hex head bolts. Tap away in all directions around the face and start prying taking your time. It'll come out. Also, follow the manual!

I would think the front main would leak quicker than the oil pump. Since you have everything off the front of the engine, it wouldn't hurt to replace that main...another easy job WYIT.

Are talking about the same oil pump? Mine has the o ring, and doesn't have any hex bolts. I pulled the gear off, and the 3 13mm bolts, but will not budge. There isn't anything to pry on either, you just have to pull on the shaft. Its been a real pain. Oh well, it will come off eventually.

Yes, we are talking about the same thing. DO NOT PULL ON THE SHAFT! Unless of course you plan on replacing the pump. Use the correct tools and it will come off.
