The backup is to have my customizing shop Vescio's this winter hire their electonics shop to fix it and then demand a refund of the repairs... then followup at small claims...

Whomever you are talking to, probably doesn't want to pay to fix the problems.
So the snooty attitude is supposed to make you accept it, and think that maybe
you are the one who does not know what you are talking about.
It's normal for them to try this kind of BS. 75% of the people are weak,
and will just accept it, grumble, and walk away...

But what you need to do, is sit down with the owner of the shop, and explain
that for that kind of money, they need to do it right. And if they won't make it
right, make them understand that a lot of bad word of mouth, and court, and
all those hassles, will make them lose a lot more money, and time, and effort.
It's a lot cheaper for them in the long run, to just make it right...

This is a custom job, subject to personal preference and interpretation. It is more difficult to enforce through the legal process than regular or routine work
