Very nice.
The shape of the spokes give them a German look.....

When i first saw them i was thinking there was some classic FUCHS heritage/DNA in them. Nice

Actually, I think it was Rob Massuco who mentioned at Sharktoberfest, that the cut outs (spaces between the spokes) are almost shaped like the Porsche crests.

I take it those are larger than normal lug nuts? 21-22mm? Looks like you need a thin walled socket to get on those.

Sweet wheels!

That car looks HOT with those rims! I love the look- usually wild large wheels/tires look bad, but in this case that's not true at all. Good work!

-I want 17 inch phone dials. I know they've never been made...but I just like the way the phone dials look and I think the earlier series cars would look perfect with these, no rub-strips, and wide rubber. I bet it would cost $4000 to get custom wheels like these made.... too much.

N!

HA...thanks Shane...I forgot to mention that. The lug nuts are actually the original black standard 19". I thought about getting new chromed ones and the guy I bought the wheels from turned around while we were at his shop, grabbed a bag and tossed it to me. They are chromed plastic caps that slip over the original lug nuts. HA HA. They come with a little grabber tool to pull them off if the lug nuts need to come off. I store the tool in the tool panel with the rest of the Porsche tools. I guess they look real huh? Not a bad price as he threw those in for free!

Yea Normy, I LOVE the phone dials and even looked into getting the ones that came off the 82 modified.I thought they could cut out the centers and mount them on 18" rims. Drill some holes and bolt them in. 2 guys told me it couldn't be done. The only thing you can do with them as far as I was able to get, is to widen them. Yep, they cut the inside lip and weld on some more rim. You can stuff 11's under the car after modification. A OB 928 would certainly look badass with some big bologna's on PD's. (Damn, I may just have to go that route for the 82 now )

Whatever it is, subliminal or blatant, it works. Every time I look at your pics, it grows on me. I always thought that any sharp angles on a custom wheel wouldn't look good on these cars....not the case.

OK, who's ready for some Photoshopping?

There isn't much selection in wide 16" rubber. You could use 15" PDs, but that would look way too 80's.

Fredis GT...I have seen other wheels that look similiar to these as well. However, they will not fit on the 928 and there are differences in the wheel. One thing about these particular wheels, is that they are not mass produced. (I think that is a good thing) My favorite wheel for a Porsche is the Tech Art "Formula". I wanted these for so long, but they will not fit...PROPERLY. So I think what caught my eye with my new wheels, was the similarity of the two.

BTW, I used to have a picture of the 19" phone dials as I have seen them on Boxsters. Once I narrowed down my wheel selection, I nixt them off my computer. Nice looking wheels, but none of them look like the Porsche 16" PD
