Default Door Hinge lube

The doors hinges squeak and sometimes are hard to close in cold weather.
I've tried all types of new and old lubricant. It lasts for a week or two, but the problems always return.

The issue is not with the door checks. They are quiet, do not bind and work fine.
It seems very difficult to get lubricant to the hinge pins.

Anyone have any ideas on this subject?

The pins are probably rusty and increased in diameter makign the hinge bind.

I would spray the hinges liberally with a penetrating lube, "Yield", "Liquid Wrench" or similar. Exercize the door. Follow with a light spray oil like "WD-40" or "Kroil". Exercize more. Finish with a light machine oil like "electric motor oil", "sewing machine oil" or "compressor oil".

Starting with a light oil helps heavier oils walk in.

Another point: Lubricating the door stay can make it nonfunctional. Ask me how I know.
