Just be glad your wife isn't McVicar's ex-girlfriend.

My problem was that my cars didn't get driven enough. Just got married so now only one sits unused. Told the wife that I might need a mistress...
...she wasn't amused.

Hey Brian,

Don't worry the car will be back in your hands soon. When it fail's to start or breaks down that will be the last time she grabs the keys.
It's only a matter of time. That's life with a 928.
Also over time the $1000 repair bills will wear her down too.
So far the latter has worked great for me!. My wife never wants the keys.

My wife hates my 928. She often even refuses to ride in it because, as she says, "it's obnoxiously loud."

Ok. Short story: You, Sir, Mr. bdstott, are screwed.

Long(er) Story: In 1995 my wife leased a 5-speed Rodeo. That was her one and only foray into SUV ownership. In 1997 she twisted my arm (really) into buying the '91.

Now, 10 years later.... just look at my .sig.

I don't see the problem, just buy another 928 as already recommeded!

My wife drives "her" 911 Targa all the time and considers it her car!

Just buy another 928 and modify it to your liking and don't let her drive.
Recommendation: But a blower on it to make it scary to drive

If BD's wife is anything at all like mine more power is a bad thing. (At the moment CarChick's Z06 - with 405hp - is the top dog at the Chamberland house.) When she got the GTS, one of the first thing's she asked was: "Can we put a supercharger on it?" I'm not sure which emoticon is more appropriate or or or

Aren't you lucky you have THIS problem?

As Carchick once told me: "The 928 is the Porsche for the self confident woman"...

Thanks for all the great suggestions.

I'm sure we'll get it sorted out in 6 or 7 years... Wait, that's when my kids will be starting to drive! Does this mean I'll have to buy 5 sharks? I might even be able to catch up to some of you!!

I think any guy who's got a lady who loves cars is more blessed than he knows! I've posted before how I when I bought my previous 911, it was bought as "my wife's car"(3rd vehicle). Hey it worked, got the car in my garage & I drove it more than she did & she was cool with that. Now after 22+ years of marriage and her finally realizing how hopeless it is to fight my addiction to cars, the past few years she is definately turning the direction of being more of a lady who loves a sports car.

She not only encouraged me to buy my 928, she has even talked me out of selling it whenever I've even entertained such sacrilegious thoughts. Hell, truly I couldnt be happier, what a "problem" to have! She always eventually gets those "other things" that ladies usually want, you know, the jewelry, furniture, etc., (less impt things in life to spend $$ on than cars!) Maybe like someone said on here before, kinda a trade off of sorts.

I look at it this way, & someone tell me if my thinkin is flawed here,..... If you want them around in your life & if they are worth having... then.... cars & ladies will cost ya one way or another, why not go down that road together if possible, instead of with resistance each step of the way. Now granted, it would suck if I "lost" a car totally to the wife that was intented to be mine. I don't drive her Z4 but a few times a month. Thats ok too, I know I could if I wanted & sometimes do when I want to. Its her daily driver so 95% of the time when we go somewhere in it together, she wants me to drive it. Some months she & my daughter may drive my shark more than me, I tell myself that it needs to be driven regularly, & the more they drive it, the more they'll love it & the less likely I'll get any resistance to keeping it around if thats what I want.

I say if she's worth keeping(or if you want her to keep YOU around), buy her a sports car she wants should she want one & be darn glad that she's a lady who loves cars like you do.

Cause we all know of guys who's lady is a person who views such ownership of sports cars as a silly luxury or non necessity, & go thru that fight on a constant basis.

Why fight the inevitable? She is going to have it one way or another. Just wax it up, put a bow on it and give it to her. She'll be thrilled and you can then go shop for another one for you.
See my avatar.

Walking the talk my man, walking the talk.
