Got nabbed in a BIG way on the way home from the Frenzy
Had to happen sonner or later - although I would have preferred later.
Gonna need a lawyer on this one... seriously. DUMB DUMB DUMB!
All I'll say publicly is that I was ont he PA turnpike, the ticket was written for 108 in a 65 and the fine is listed at $219.00. Don't know how the points work from PA to MI, but would really like to avoid the points if possible.
If you know how that whole interstate points thing works, I'd appreciate it if you could explain it to me or point me to a source to look it up.
The good things was that the Frenzy was FUN! Had a good time. Will post pictures after the wife settles down about this whole thing.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.
I figure if I don't get a speeding ticket now and then, I'm a disgrace to Porsche ownership.
Plus, it gives ya stories to tell!
(BTW, where was your V1?)
And why is the wifey gettin' riled up? I tell my wife it's a whole hell of a lot better than being married to some boring Mr. Vanilla.

Sorry to hear about the ticket. $219 isn't that bad. Ask around locally to see if you can find anybody with a PA ticket. Supposedly all states exchange information with each other, but some are lazy and others just don't like each other. I know Maryland doesn't get information from VA or NJ, but they do from PA. NJ gets info from PA, but not VA.
Frenzy was fun. It was good to see you and help out the (more new than me) newbies. If you ever have trouble bleeding your clutch I learned several new methods. My car is outside trying the Kempf clear tube up up to above the resevoir bleeding method.

I got nabbed doing 112 in a 65 a few years ago (I-75)... got wrote for the whole thing... paid the fine, dealt with my points (I mean really, what legal excuse can you use if he did in fact catch you fair and square)... luckily the insurance company never pulled my record during that time--no increases.
Your insurance company 'may' not find out, especially since it was out of state.
(I really wanted to tell the officer "But I was only in 3rd gear, I still have 3 left!", but thought better of it)

Yeah, my best "ice-breaker" line to cops is, "Hey officer, YOU drive this car and try to keep it under 100!"

The V1 was on and working. I was cresting a hill (where there was an overpass) and the road was curving left. Just as I hit the overpass/crest the V1 went full tilt! Nothing before. He was just waiting there on the far side of the embankment (right side of the road) for someone like me to come by. That's all I can say until it's resolved.
Matt-
Good meeting you too. Hope your clutch issues get resolved. Your car sounds MEAN!
Chris-
There are all kinds of issues that can be explored that could have violated my rights. That's what the lawyer is for. If my rights were violated, then I can not be held guilty.

Andrew, I'm ASHAMED of you. You're a DISGRACE to the rest of us speed limit abiding 928 owners.
Why, just this morning, on the way to a breakfast meeting with Jim, Roger, Chuck and Sterling my accelerator stuck and I found myself doing 120. I, of course, IMMEDIATELY flagged down the next police car I saw and turned myself in.

I figure it just gives Andrew more credibility as the Keeper Of The Shrine. Regardless of the outcome. Too clean a driving records bespeaks a false prophet.

When I was in a similar situation(85/55 ) it was not about the money it was about the points. If this true for you use a good lawyer. Call the court house in the county where you will have to appear and get a list of lawyers to call. Interview them and see if any of them has ever dealt with the peace officer in question and what he thinks it can be knocked down to. My lawyer in Virginia got the reckless driving knocked down to failure to obey posted speed limits(1 point).

My hero.
I know my time is due too. If my wife didn't back into my fender a couple weeks ago I probably would have been next to you and we would have been going even faster. See what happens when you have a red car.

Andrew, Andrew. I'm really disappointed in you.
Oh yeah... almost identical thing happened to me a little more than a month ago on the way back home to Kansas City area from Colorado. Extreme western Kansas (just a few miles in from Colorado). Also got written up for triple digits (although there's no way in hell I was really going that fast when I got radar zapped; I know pretty much what speed I was going when I got the radar hit thanks to my V1).
I'm currently engaging the services of USTrafficTickets to see what can be done about it. They only serve Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Illinois, so it's not an option for you, but I'll bet there are similar on-line services in your area.

Which county were you in (and what part of the Turnpike)?
Can't get legal advice--but occasionally, I get patients (I'm a resident in PA) that are State Troopers--I might be able to ask them.
I can recommend not only the lawyer but plan on showing up--as an out of state license plate, the Trooper may not even show up for that court date if he wrote mostly out of state tix.
