Default mid-mounted magnaflow muffler

Anyone have one installed (which one)? I'm debating the idea since I installed the test-pipe. The dual/dual mufflers have an x-core.

I called Magnaflow today and they have the x-core. Not sure about others...

If you click on the details for the muffler models, some will (or used to) say which had the Tru-X core. Some that didn't say it had it anyway. I know the 4x9x14" body 2.5" dual/dual stainless is Tru-X, and whatever the 3" closest to that in size is also Tru-X.

You say you have a test pipe, what's out back? My car is MSDS headers, 3.5" Y-pipe, 3" pipe from the Y back with a 3" in/out 4x9 Magnaflow where your left resonator is. It sounds awesome. It is bearable, but loud. The description the exhaust guy gave after I took it for a test drive was "F*cking awesome! It sounds like the most badass motorcycle ever built." If this was a daily driver, I'd add another muffler... probably a 4" round Magnaflow behind the Y-pipe. If you have resonators and an RMB, it will probably sound perfect.

If I was you, I'd buy a Magnaflow Tru-X by itself and weld it in place of part of your test pipe. If it's too loud, put 2 4" round mufflers behind it. That's what I had planned, but money became tight so I went with the single.

I forgot to mention... I bought my muffler from Complete Exhaust. John was nice on the phone and helpful with picking the muffler, and their prices are the best I could find for Magnaflows.

I have one still in the box and wrapper. Would fit nicely in place of cat. I went with a different exhaust, and never even opened it. I can take pics for you and show you the X inside the muffler. If you're interested I'll give you a good deal on it. Give me a day or so, then I'll post the pics.

Rich.
