Has anyone received there 928 specialists sway bar set manufactured by Addaco? If so were there any quality issues on the bars?

mine are received and in. really seemed to be no quality issues. the paint got scuffed up a bit on install, but other than that they seem to be excellent pieces.

Just got mine yesterday, haven't had a chance to open the box yet.
How do they compare to stock and how much work were they to install?

mark,
i'm bringing the '89 (black) and the 90 gt (very unique.)
anthony,
the bars are way better than stock. total install time for me was about 3.5 hours (front and rear.) haven't driven with both in, but with just the front in the car handles a bunch better than with the stock bar and ott drop links.

I had Addco on my Autocross '85 Supra: loved them (about the same weight as a 928 as well) ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I'm installing my 928SP sway bar set this weekend: Thanks again Dave!

This may have been covered before, but are we supposed to augment the rear mount if we move to a larger/stiffer bar? I've heard that the front mounts must be augmented or else you risk tearing the mount under heavy cornering.
I have the ott front/rear links with normal bars, and would be interested in switching to a stiffer rear bar to help reduce understeer.

Hi Brain,
>This may have been covered before, but are we supposed to augment the >rear mount if we move to a larger/stiffer bar?
No the rear mount should be fine. FYI, ADDCO's poly bushing manufacturer is making us 1-piece exact factory replicas of the stock rear bushings that will also help reduce sway bar flex for stock or aftermarket bars. They will fit exactly like the stock rubber ones with no additional hardware, plus they should be under $20 a set!

Yes you should if using a very strong front bar. You should be safe using the middle position on our new Sway bars but the 3rd (stiffest) shoudl not be used without reinforcing the frame mount. We have our Bolt On (no welding) Front Sway Bar Frame Mount Reinforcing Bracket designed/prototyped now and we are currently sourcing a manufacturer for those. They should be very inexpensive and require no additional hardware when used with our new Sway Bar Bushings/Hardware.

Our rear bar will take care of that.

I installed my front bar yesterday, quality and fit is excellent!! Don't have time to put the rear bar in yet, traveling on business today and tomroow and then off to Frenzy 9 Friday (with the rear sway bar in case we get ambitious at Frenzy). Dave, put me down for a pair of the new rear bushings!!

Hi Tom.
>oh sure, tell me now after i got the b*tch installed
You will be able to install the new bushings without removing the bar, BUT as you well know I can't guarantee you will not skin a knuckle or 2 in the process :-)

When I arrived home totday there was a box from 928 Specialists waiting for me. The front bar for my 1980 Euro S. The bar looks quite well made and the link hardware looks to be of good quality. The red paint matches the car well. It will be months till I get it mounted,as the car goes into storage shortly. This morning there was 3 inches of snow on the ground at the house and it was still there when I got home. Definitely not 928 weather. I hate to think about driving the car on 275/40 17 Sumitomo HTRZ II summer ties in several inches of snow. That would be way stupid. It is so cruel to have a box of parts and no car to put them on, and for several months.
