Ignition Monitoring Relay.... correct me if I'm wrong
My red LED on the Ignition Monitoring Relay lights as soon as I turn the key to the on position. The engine is cold (hadn't run in 24hrs.). I swapped out the left and right manifold temp. sensors and the red LED still lights. That rules out a bad sensor. The only other possiblities are the Ignition Monitor Relay itself on a broken wire agreed?

The sensors generate voltage when they are hot. They are wired in series, + to + or - to -, with each end of the circuit attached to the relay, so that if one sensor is hotter (producing more voltage) than the other there will be a net voltage on the circuit. Voltage one way makes one LED light; voltage the other way makes the other LED light. It's a very elegant system, IMO. A lighted LED on a cold engine can only be a broken relay. (Do I have it about right, Jim?)

Yup ...I believe there is a time delay feature built in to help limit false warnings/ shut down ...That relay has a bunch of logic built in circuit boards etc.....it is more brain box than relay !
