Default 928 Specialists Adjustable Performance Sway Bar

Have anyone mounted this set to their car yet?
What's the impression compared to stock or stock with drop links?

Hi Peter,

Doubtful that anyone has installed them yet. We were supposed to ship last week but I found a defect in the first front sway bar production run. Of course ADDCO being the pros they are, they stopped all production at their factory until our fronts were made again. AND the VP came out to my shop 3 times to test fit and we made some more changes that give us another 1/2" or so of wheel/tire clearance. We also upgraded to low profile heavy duty bushings/brackets and hardware that will have much less flex than the stock thickness poly bushings. This change also enables our soon to be released Bolt On (no welding) Sway Bar Frame Reinforcement Brackets to be installed with no additional hardware and keep the sway bar in the stock orientation!

We started shipping the newly made fronts (along with the rears) on Wed. and they should start showing up to some of the guys today. We hope to have all of the pre-order sets shipped by Monday/Tuesday. Once the bars arrive it takes us a little while to prep them for shipment. Things such as pre-assembling the hardware, adjusting all the drop links to factory length, etc. so they arrive ready to start mounting.

BTW, with the newly updated design I am getting even more wheel/tire clearance now on my 90GT. As a matter of fact the tires have only 1/4" or so before they will hit the chassis, BUT I still have over an inch before they would hit our new sway bar!! (see photos)

Hi Glen,

Yours have already shipped (yesterday) so you should have them in time to get them mounted before the Frenzy :--)

BTW, Jeannie goofed and sent yours with all of the hardware, I think you ordered bars only so please bring the hardware to the Frenzy and give it to Jeannie so she will get out of "hot water" :-)

See ya soon,

Great, will bring the hardware to Frenzy, tell Jeannie she owes me. Unfortunately I won't be able to install before Frenzy, I'm out of town on business Tuesday thru Thursday next week. Get home in time to pack up and head out to the Frenzy.

See you there.

Does the Embassy Suites have an area roped off in the parking lot
along with a bunch of work lights handy for those late night sessions.
Ala Casa Roberts Saturday night at SITM.

Hi Dave,
I want to put your sway bars on my Christmas list for my early 86S.
However i need to plan for the labor cost. Can you tell me what's involed for a real P-car wrench to install the front and rear bars @ $95.00 per hour ?.

Regards

peter,
mine (front) went on today and replaced the stock bar with drop links. took me about an hour and 15 minutes to do it.
drove the car with no other changes (i used the middle setting) and the car handles much nicer. turn in is better, cornering is flatter, the slight push i had is gone. feels very solid but not harsh. i have the stock shock/springs and the rear drop links (rear bar should go on tomorrow) and run twin turbo wheels and tires (225/40/18 on 8s and 295/30/18 on 11s)

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the feedback, it means a lot coming from you with your combined street and track experience!

BTW, for clarity sake, were you running stock drop links or the adjustable Ott links we sell (I can't remember)? I am curious if you felt that much improvement even over the Ott adjustable links?

Have a great weekend and call me today if you need any more tips on the rear install.
